I am putting together the home video files, using an MP3 song as the soundtrack file in Womble Mpeg Video Wizard DVD. However, as I'm trying to use Cold Play's Viva La Vida (mp3 that I purchased from Walmart.com for $0.74), Womble freezes plugging the CPU at 100% indefinitely. I can only stop the process (process explorer) to get back to normal.

I thought maybe BeSweet might be able to handle the conversion then to MP2 (I'm using BeLight GUI) for the file, but that has the same issue--pegs the CPU at 100% with no indication of anything happening.

Yet, Windows Media Player plays the MP3 file just fine, no issues.

The process (both Womble MVW and BeSweet) work fine with other MP3 files I bought at the same time. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this file work, and any way to "fix" it?

    Thanks!
    Tim

It looked like that worked, albeit it felt a little sketchy. However, the resulting wav file was like 50k (from source MP3 of 7.5 MB. It isn't anything like expected.

Both the command-line lame.exe and Winamp should be able to
convert your .MP3 into a regular .WAV file without a problem.

P.S.: Make sure you'll resample the soundtrack to 48kHz before
trying to author the DVD-compliant stuff.

The Winamp converter feature (kind of hard to find in the skin) worked well, many thanks!

Also, my daughter wants to type her name:

That's possible of course, but I'd not bet many bucks on it
A couple of years ago I found some "mysteriously-encoded" MP3s which
could not be decompressed at all by the LAME dll, nor by Nero 5 and 6.
Only the CLI-program lame.exe was capable of dealing with them.
