Hi, Just bought myself a Sony BDP S350, and 5.1 speakers. I have right and left audio out on both my tv and the blu-ray player. What do I need to connect the six (three red, three white) phono plugs to either the tv or player? AV receiver? Some kind out signal splitter?

in the usa maybe $150 -> thousands. depends on features, wattage, amp class.
look at a few local shops like best buy, circuit city to see what you need/want.--

Assuming your Blu-Ray player and TV are connected via HDMI, take a look at AVR's with HDMI connectivity. The Onkyo 606 is a good low end AVR with HDMI.

aedipuss is right, but you definitely need to know that the less you pay, the less it has. You'll easily pay $300-400 or more for a good receiver with HDMI inputs/outputs, which you're probably going to want at some point. Krispy Kritter's suggestion is within the range I'm talking about.
