I using Movie Vegas Studio, I captured a video through my card and it plays wanderfull using windows media player (avi format, type video clip).

I would like to burn a dvd with this video but the audio seems to be lost when imported into vegas studio. I downloaded Gspot and it shows the following info:

    Video Codec: DX50
    Video Name: 5.x/6.x

    Audio Codec: 0x0050 MPEG-1 Layer 2

How do I install this codec on my computer so vegas studio can utilize it to play the audio?

    Welcome hespinoza

    Open the file in virtualdub.

Set audio to full processing mode.
Set audio compression to no compression pcm.
Set audio conversion to sample rate = 44100khz, precision = 16bit, channels = stereo.
    File > Save Wav

Use this new wav output as project audio stream in vegas movie studio.

Thanks that works really good. I'll try it and see if I can get some output to a dvd.

    Thanks again.

I went on a fun search to try to figure out this one. I have a camera that records audio into mp2 (0x0050 MPEG-1 Layer 2) format. I tried to load it into Sony Vegas Movie Studio, and had issues with no audio.

I did find an answer however.

Within the forums there is a hint towards it at:

The Tsunami Installer will ask you what Codecs you want to install so make sure you don't install any other Codecs or you could run into trouble.
