Dear friends,

I am starting a project of producing a series of online video lectures I plan to put on Youtube or similar service.

I visualize the final video with a, say, 30min lecture: it will start with my own image speaking, and at certain points, video will switch to a powerpoint presentation (with animations), or maybe some screen capture (usage of software, for example).

I know I can do this recording the whole lecture with my image, then using some editing tool to replace my video image with the powerpoint capture at the correct moments.

However, I wanted to eliminate or at least minimize the editing step. So I thought about using some tool that would capture, in the same session, both the webcam and the screen, allowing me to switch, real-time, from one video source to another one. In that case, my video would be closer to final result, and editing would probably be limited to trimming at the beginning and end or maybe inserting titles and credits.

Anyway, is there such tool? And if so, what are the freeware and/or opensource alternatives?

Best regards,

Ze
