Has anyone here with standard definition DVNTSC, 720 x 480, widescreen mode source got good quality YouTube videos?

I've tested many settings using premiere pro and also winff. Even with high bitrates (10,000 kbps) I still get the same low quality video on YouTube.

If you have the same source video as mine and settings that works for you, let me know.

Software I have are Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and WinFF.

  2. If you are using 720x480 widescreen, then your best be will be to crop the top and bottom bars and resize it to 480x270 or 640x360. Then you can encode it for YouTube and it should at least be eligible for the hiqh quality encode (fmt = 18). You need to make sure your YouTube account is set to watch in hiqh quality and if you are embedding, you will need to put the fmt hack in your embed code. Even though YouTube will now allow 720p HD video, I do not recommend upsampling SD to HD. Here is a basic guide I created that will tell you how to encode to get the best results.

There are no top and bottom bars. I use Premiere Pro 1.5 to capture the video from my camcorder and the video shows up in widescreen already with no bars.

Also, I am not looking for a high quality option. I am already getting the high quality option when I upload my videos. I want my video to look decent from the start so that people who watch my videos won't have to click on "watch in high quality".
I have seen many videos where the quality looks good without having to click on "watch in high quality".
I have used all of YouTube's recommended settings and quality is still bad.
