Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell which encoder in Super is the best to use, or maybe explaing the differences. The 4 choices are FF mpeg, MEncoder, FFMpeg2theora, and Real producer.. I imagine realproducer is for Real player format which I do not use. I am usually just encoding from avi to avi.. either to change aspect ratio, or sometimes the video will have 2 audio streams (2 different languages) and I just want to disable one of the streams. I also use it sometimes to convert from other formats that I dont ever use such as h.264 x264 etc. Thanks.. Oh and one other question.. Is there a guide that tells me which video scale size to change to if I want to make the size bigger, but not stretch or distort the image such as 608:336 to ????? in 16:9.

If you just want to disable an audio stream in an avi file, don't use SUPER. Use virtualdub or AVIMuxGUI so you don't needlessly re-encode the video.

If you are simply trying to adjust an incorrect aspect ratio in an AVI (eg. 16:9 flagged as 4:3 and looking stretched), use mpeg4modifier and avoid needlessly re-encoding.

For most other conversions, try Xvid4PSP. It is far smarter than SUPER, and produces much higher quality results. It doesn't cover all the codecs SUPER does (e.g. WMV output), but it is far better in all other aspects.
