I can't really explain it any better then scanlines. When I record in .mpg anything and a object in the picture is in motion it make scan lines.

Anywho, did you actually look at that screencap before posting it ??

I can't see the .bmp, but that sounds like interlace artifacts. Horizontal lines at the edges of moving objects. If your final output is a TV, you won't see them. They are the normal result of viewing interlaced video on a software player that can't properly handle it. You can also use a software player like VLC or MPC to view, and select a de-interlacing mode. You can look up interlace in our glossary to the left. <<<

sorry for the messed up or nothing picture. I didn't realize that. I will try de-interlacing.

Just to add if it's not clear, interlace artifacts aren't a defect. Most all MPEG video uses interlaced video. The display is the problem.
If you are converting to AVI type formats like Xvid/Divx, then de-interlacing may be correct. If your output is MPEG, interlace is usually the correct format.
