    hi all, I was wondering how to crop an mpeg2 to 4:3 dimensions without recoding. I have vegas but when I look for tuts all I find is how to zoom in or out in the program not resize the video so it fills the screen. I will be playing back on an mac.
    Do wise auld videohelpers know of a solution?

    Check out Restream.
    Or you can use PgcEdit and in Dimain Stream atribute change 16:9 flag from Letterbox to Pan & Scan for your title.

    ReStream will alter the flag if it has been incorrectly set, and if your player recognises the P&S flag it may help.

    However if you really mean crop - cut off the ends of the video - then you have to re-encode. There is no way to crop without it.
