PowerDVD v.7 always opens in a relatively small window (777 x 524 here). You can then maximise it to full screen or drag a corner to get any other size. Is there a setting that's so far eluded me which will ensure it stays that size when it next runs please?

I don't think so. I believe the only option you have is "Open In fullscreen". Here is the manual...
