OK, I was just wondering if anyone uses a rule of thumb when choosing and resolution as it applies to bitrate. I like using mpeg2 stream and 2 pass VBR for NTSC. So when dealing with bitrates lower than say 1600 stay with 352x240, above 1600 but below 2200 change to 352x480, above 2200 change to 480x480. I'm just throwing this out as an example. I just don't want to lose quality by using too low of bitrate for a particular resolution. Sefy if you're reading this, I know I just asked you this via email, but I realized my account is messed up and won't access my new messages.

magnus, i'm not the guy to answer this, cause I only do VCD's, and even my SeVCD and SxVCD are based on VCD resolution and bitrate, but since people tend to answer posts after I answer, there should be some more replies to this subject soon
