With the most recent anydvd & clone, i am getting a compression error at 99% of the rip. Has anyone else also experience a similiar issue? This is the R-1 disc.

Try dvd fab decrypter. Also you might just have to wait a few more days for the newest encryption to be worked around.

I used anydvd 6.4.9.0 and dvd shrink and had no problems backing up.

I had no problem as well in ripping with the latest DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER then used the latest DVD REBUILDER PRO.

I always take out the Spanish, French, and what ever other languages they have in there other than English, and have no problems to shrink the DVD to fit onto a regular DVD5-R...I then burn the VIDEO_TS folder with ImgBurn, and rarely ever do I encounter any problems (aside from the newer encryptions and sneaky stuff that they are doing to pre-owned movies [putting a label on the inner ring of the DVD to make sure that the DVD cannot be copied])..."Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" ~ JOHN MILTON, PARADISE LOST -
Tried Shrink 3.2 and get an error ISO device and data error cyclic redundancy check? I got all kinds of errors here, lol. I burned other cd's and have no problem but this one , jeesh!

AnyDVD 6.4.9.0 and DVD Shrink worked for me as well. Though I have a dual layer burner so I never use Shrink to reduce it. I just back it up to an ISO and burn it out.

oh, heh... version 3.2 is the latest I think, but check the tools section of this website or www.dvdshrink.org to be sure, and then just go from there...
BTW, AnyDVD is now up to 6.4.9.2, so that might help with your backup as well...get the update and you should be able to rock and roll from there on..."Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" ~ JOHN MILTON, PARADISE LOST -
The only way I could backup TDK was by using DVDFab Decrypter,DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink choked on it.
