When viewing 1080p movies the image has a large border on all sides using Media Player Classic with CoreAVC codec for x264 playback.

I have an HTPC with an ASUS M3A78-EM motherboard (see: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131324) connected to a 32" 720P LCD TV with VGA and separate audio cable.

Is there a way to render the image so that it fills the more of the screen? 32" isn't huge so I don't want to waste what I have I think the aspect ratio of the TV is 16:9.

  5. Many (most?) 720p LCD HDTVs use 1366x768 panels. When fed a 1280x720 VGA input they may map the frame pixel-for-pixel on the display to get the sharpest image. That means you'll get a black border around the edge. If the HDTV stretched the frame to fill the 1366x768 panel small text would become fuzzy. You can try setting the graphics card's resolution to 1366x768.
