    I have installed VLC 9.6. Works fine.
    But now I have no audio in WMP or ReaPlayer
    I have exhausted my skills at solving this problem.
    Any ideas?

    P.S.
    The problem still exists even after uninstalling Vlc

    VLC doesn't alter the system codecs in any way, so it shouldn't have had any bearing on your audio. Do you have problems playing audio in any other application, or even hearing the system beeps?

    Does the problem persist even after a reboot? It could be that the sound subsystem just needs a swift kick in the... er, a reset.
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

    Thanks for the reply. The problem was not directly related to either of these two apps.
    I rebuilt the system and cleared this and several other problems I had.
