    I tried using smartripper and i put my dvd in and as soon as i open smartripper, screen turns blue and says "windows protection error you need to restart machine" please help thanks! I am curently runnin WindowsMe

    Try re-installing it. I'm running me and have no problems.
    Also, get the lastest version.

    whiteboy, u have to play the DVD in a software DVD player on your computer first (this "unlocks" the drive for you and allows your DVD-ROM to get the decrytion key from the DVD)....when u insert your DVD into your DVD-ROM...play it with winDVD or powerDVD for a couple of secs...then turn it off and open up smartripper....
