First of all I would like to say this is an amazing site! I thank the people who make the wonderful programs that make it easier to burn backups and the thank the people who help out the noobies like me.

I have a 7.94 GB WMV file on my Computer that I would like to play on my Xbox360. Normally I would stream it but I will soon not have an internet connection and I want a physical copy of the media.

Stubbornly I went out to my local store tonight in a hurry and bought 5 Memorex DVD+R DL disks to hopefully be used to do the task. Turns out they all turned into expensive coasters ($10 down the drain)...

Tomorrow I plan on going to another store and picking up a pack of 5 Verbatim DVD+R DL disks and I want to make sure that I am burning correctly so I don't waste any more money .

    1) Create a UDF 1.02 ISO of the WMV file using Imgburn. (1.02 is the best UDF to use right?)

    2) Pop in the blank Verbatim DVD DL and choose "Write image file to disk"

    3) Browse for the .mds and press build. (should I check the box for verify or test mode?)

    3) Hopefully, place the finished disk into the Xbox 360.

    4) Move over to the media tab and load the video "from dvd" under the video tab.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my post! Hopefully I will get a few responses

Your plan sounds OK to me. I'm not sure that you have to use UDF 1.02, but that should be OK. Actually UDF 2.00 and 2.01 are probably OK too, but I'd avoid UDF above that as it can be problematic on some players.

Memorex media is pretty poor and your results are why we don't recommend it.

Thanks for the reply and your concern about UDF.

The XBox360 plays UDF fine (or so I am told).

Fry's only had Memorex (they don't carry Verbatim), luckily my local Best Buy had a sale going on so I picked up 20 Verbatim 2.4 speed DVD+R DL's for only $30.

I will test one tonight and see if everything works out! If it doesn't hopefully someone will be able to help
