... I saw Forbidden Planet, and I was hooked on Sci-Fi.

I LOVED FORBIDDEN PLANET! ROFLMFAO!!!

They used to play that on USA late night, and sometimes even on Nickelodeon late nights, after Mr. Ed...rofl...then TBS would play BARBARELLA, and I was just so enamored with that movie that I got stuck on Sci-Fi, stories of Heaven and Hell, Devils and Angels, good vs. evil motifs, and anything that seemed to feed my need for gothic horror and the darker recesses of my disturbed mind...

I'm a much more well adjusted person now though...

Well I saw Day the Earth Stood Still this afternoon.

I won't discuss the plot for those who haven't seen it yet.

I will say I liked it. It wasn't a ra-ra adventure romp but it was a well done movie. There were elements from the original movie that were well placed.

I did like the kid in the movie. He was decent. Not over the top but not overly sappy in my view.

I thought the pacing was well done too. Unlike so many other disaster type movies I didn't feel rushed into it too much.

I would recommend the movie to other people.
