Find something here:

Cross-reference results with the list here:

Then you'll find something that does what you want, and whether it is suggested.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

The only AMV convertor that I have found that produces files playable on one of these horrible players is the one that ships with the player. There is a converter based on a customised version of ffmpeg, but none of the files it produced, using any combination of settings, would play on the player in question. Only the software that shipped with the player produced playable files. This seems to be a common problem.
Anyway, the program is called BAMVC, and can be found here : http://www.nonags.com/software.asp?ID=3297Read my blog here.

Thanks lordsmurf
I did the Google thing, that's why I posted here as there was a bunch of different programs. I hadn't seen that there was a list here to cross-reference with...time to do my homework.
guns1inger,
Not everyone can shell out a couple hundred for a player so this one will have to do.
I do have the software that came with the player I just assumed that as with all software that comes with things there has to be better available.
Thanks for the help guys
Its Appreciated -

I'll check out the link you gave and see if I can get that to work.
Any more experience is always welcome
Thank You

im having same problems the shipped version does it but audio is ALWAYS out of sync - i see it uses my K-Lite ffmpeg codec when doing it perhaps if i used another codec like divx... thing is i still want it 4:3 which it also doesnt give the option of - so i would have to convert AVI-to-AVI as 4:3 then AVI-AMV (but using software/codec that will keep audio in sync)

I also have a player that uses the AMV format. I found a freeware program called Bytessence MPxConverter 1.1 .

It looks similar to the tool that guns1inger posted above.
