What is the fastest mt2s converter?

what is the fastest proggy to convert down to 720p on mkv, mp4 or hd divx while still keeping the quality? my processor is duo core 2 4500 intel w/2gb ram. Would under 3 hours be asking too much?

Don't mean to post something like this but I can't find feedback on what speeds you guys get on various converters.

You have to change your file extensions from .M2TS to .MTS for it to work. There's a Vimeo version towards the bottom of the page with will automatically convert your MTS to MP4 at 1280x720
