I am trying to burn an AVI file I create to a DVD. I tried using FAVC but when it starts to run it gives me a bunch of errors on the dos screen (Incificiant and invalid). Is there a better program to use for this? I have Vista 64 also.
Thanks

Did you download the favc 64 bit version?
Installed avisynth and net framework?

Ok, I did get one to work but the audio is off on it, some ones mouth moves and the words start after. It is anoying.
Ideas? -
Does the original AVI have variable bitrate (VBR) audio or constant (CBR)?
Is the audio out-of-sync by a set amount all the way through or is it progressive?Pull! Bang! Darn! -
If I watch it on a viewer like VLC Media player it works great.
How do I check on the Bitrate issue and fix them?
Thanks -
VBR MP3 is a common problem when converting AVIs to DVD, and often results in sync problems. You can open the AVI in something like GSpot or MediaInfo to find out. If it is VBR MP3, it may be difficult to correct.
Playing the original AVI isn't usually a problem, it's when you convert to DVD that async manifests itself. The easiest solution is to just get a DivX capable set-top player.
Playing the converted DVD on your set-top player, does the audio go more and more out-of-sync, or is it a constant amount? Does the async start from the beginning or does it begin partway through?Pull! Bang! Darn! -
That's just to know what you're dealing with. Specifically VBR MP3 audio.
Had it started partway through and/or gotten progressively more out-of-sync, I'd say (from experience), that it probably wouldn't be worth fooling with. Which is not to say it's impossible.
It's likely the problem can be fixed. But first, have you tried any other all-in-one converters? I dunno which ones can run under 64-bit. However, some converters are better than others in avoiding async. ConvertXtoDVD, for instance, or the old freeware version, DivXtoDVD.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Sent you a PM with a method to re-sync the DVD. It's not difficult, so long as the async is constant. On the ConvertXtoDVD page, partway down is a link to the old freeware DivXtoDVD.
Good luck.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Ok, I got it now but weird thing is when I load up the IFO file it says cells 1 and then I hit check A/V delay it says none for Audio_1 - audio_8. What is going on if there is no delay how can the sound be off then? Or am I missing something here?
Thanks -
Use ImgBurn to copy DVD-Video to disc.
As to the delay, sometimes the attributes are just wrong. [shrugs]
So, are you saying DivXtoDVD worked? Probably easiest for you just to use that, or upgrade to the pay version, which is superior. Although you might try a run-through of the method in the PM, it might be useful to you sometime.Pull! Bang! Darn!
