I like to catch up on some TV during lunchtime at work, usually nbc.com. The problem is the show periodically freezes and does not recover so I have to shutdown the browser, restart nbc.com, watch the commercials over, only to have it freeze up at some other section. This eats up a lot of time. So I want to know if someone knows what the problem is (buffer, firewall, McAfee) and if there's a solution. If it's a buffer problem, why doesn't it just rebuffer and continue. I've tried running Firefox and IE. I searched and found the posts seem to focus on recording streaming video. I'm not interested in recording it, just watching it in realtime. Besides, recording it would not help once the stream is frozen anyways. Thanks.

I should say that the browser and computer aren't frozen, just the video stream. Hitting pause/play, fast forward, etc doesn't have any effect.

I just remembered that Fox.com will go through the motions of loading, but the video does not start and . CBS.com seems to be most problem free.

  2. Th isssue is with your video card driver and having hardware accelleration active on your flash player. Do a clean install of your video card drivers and that should correct it
