16:9, default stereo. Better default resolution. Looks like they're trying to emulate Vimeo.

I notice they also put the whammy on a couple of my old videos that used bitrate stuffing that were labeled stereo. Possibly they have a bot looking for it?

Hardly. Just because they've increased the playback window size doesn't mean they've increased the encoded resolution. It's still the same 480x272.

I saw some that were obviously better quality than the typical .flv and with default stereo withouth having to add the &fmt=18, but not sure how they did it. I've tried uploading an Xvid and a high bitrate .flv and it's not happening with them.

Hmmm... I see clicking "watch in high quality" now yields stereo as well as better video.

They just made up for it. If you upload in 1280x720 or higher, there is a "Watch in HD" option, which ends up being 640x360; the size of the player window. You can still do 480x360 for 4:3 and the "Watch in High Quality" too.

Well, better than the 320x180 mono FLV, for sure. It's still 480x272. Download it and check it out.

But brassplyer isn't talking about the hi-def uploaded videos, but the regular old ones. And how can 640x360 be considered HD?
