Yesterday I had a strange effect on conversion with ULead Mediastudio:
I made a conversion from 50 min DV footage to mpeg-2 PAL SVCD). This took (as usual) 3 hours. I found some errors in the result, edited my DV footage and the converted everything back. As the edited material was shorter then the footage before, I used a higher bitrate for encoding. And to my surprise, the new encoding took about 20 min. only. The result is - in my eyes- perfect.
Why did the new encoding only 20 min? Any ideas?

  2. Mediastudio uses Smart-render....

This means that as long as you keep your original source filed on the same location on your HD it will only render what you edit.

In this case it didn't render for 20 mins but it was checking what part was different, and that takes 20 mins.

    greets.

You're right, even when altering the bitrate only, smart render works in mysterious ways. But you have to keep the temporary files too.
