I used MKVExtract GUI 1.6.3 to demux my mkv file. Had a video track, 2 audio and a sub.

    So far so good.

Went to remux with mkvmerge GUI 2.4.0

It it telling me that I have not selected a number of FPS and unless I do it will default to 25.
It it telling me to do this in the 'format specific options' page.
When I select that tab everything is grayed and I cannot set the FPS option (although I am not sure what it should be anyway). But I do knot that it is not 25 since the audio is no longer synced up with the vid...but on the plus side the subs are gone.

Any thoughts on how to make this program work for me...or is there another I should try?

I know I can just disable the subs in whatever player I use but I have 100's of files that don't have subs so I don't want to have to be bothered for just a few and would just like to eliminate them completely.

    Thanks.

  2. Highlight the video track, then go to the format specific options tab

Why did you put the subs in the .mkv in the first place? (Actually don't answer that question )

Wow, I feel like a blockhead...can't believe it was that simple!!!
What program would give me the info on the FPS though?
I tried 24, 25, 30...none of those were in sync.
I had to use the 24000/1001 option and it seems likes it is correct...what exactly does that mean?

    Thanks for the help

  4. If you plug 24000/1001 into a calculator, you get 23.976 which is the rate used in Hollywood film

In future, you could also check with mediainfo (view=>text) on the .mkv file (e.g. it might have been a NTSC camcorder video, 29.97 fps or PAL video (25FPS) )

    Cheers
