  1. I am the not so proud owner of a Panasonic C-220 and wanted to ask for some help. This player claims to have Video CD support but I believe (a Panasonic tech. confirmed) that it only supports professionally pressed VideoCD. I have burned numerous VCDs for my brothers RCA, 80% success, but I have never been able to get a VCD to even read on my C-220.

    Here are the questions:
1.Is there any way to get a VCD to play on the Panasonic C-220? I have looked at the compatibility list and some users claim that Blue Layered Memorex Platinum CD-RW’s work. I have been unable to get Memorex or any other brand to read.

2.What is the difference between a home grown VCD and a “Professionally Pressed” VCD? If there is a difference is there a way I can emulate or fool my Panasonic into reading my home grown VCD’s?

3.I have used Nero and CDRWin to burn onto numerous brands but primarily use Memorex Platinum’s. I also use the default settings for Nero and CDRWin when burning. Are there any setting changes I should try to get them to work on my C-220?

Thanks everyone! I would just about sell my soul to get VCD’s to work on my Panasonic C-220!

    Answeres...

    1. It's how the player's laser is configured on reading the surface of the disc. If the reflection is to high or to low it can't read it.

    2. Profesionly pressed VCD are stamped replications of a master disc like pre-recored music cd's.

    3. Problebly not...

    Any others to comment?
