Use xvid4psp. Gotsent is mainly for PS3 and xbox 360.

It might be possible, it depends what video and audio codec and what resolution the mkv contain. Give us the details from the mkv, use mediainfo to identify and post all settings in this topic.

And wanting to convert to mp4 [psp computable] without having to encode the video again, if it converts audio it is ok. just looking for the LEAST time consuming way. So just a little help and little guidance so I can do it solo in the future.
And thanks baldrick for helping out. =D

You're probably going to have to re-encode the video stream. I'm not sure about the PSP's maximum resolution (if you're NOT going to hook it up to a TV screen) - it's either 320x240, 368x208 or possibly up to 480x272. If you DO connect it to a TV, it supposedly supports 720x480.

If you're wanting to convert in the least amount of steps and with the least amount of quality loss, why not re-rip from your original DVD, and use something like XVid4PSP to convert that directly to PSP MP4 format?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

I only have the .mkv nothing more of it. And I usually dL as .mkv's since its a small format with hq. And PSP supports up to 420x272. Just seeing if maybe bald may know a way. =]
