I've owned a ConvertX PX-TV402U which can capture compsite audio, video, and s-video at 720x480 in MPEG4 or DIVX. However, I was told to get best quality from VHS capture (i have very important VHS tapes to digitize), I need to capture in 720x480 using Lagarith or high-tech codecs like that. Thus, I had to purchase a capture card. I just purchased the ImpactVCB from Hauppauge but I just realized it doesn't have compsoite audio. In addition, I'm unable to capture any more than 320 x 240. Well actually I can capture 720 x 240 but 240 is max. thats crazy

    First, can this be fixed?
If not, I need a capture card with s-video and compsoite Left Right audio that works with virtualdub and can capture 720 x 480 guaranteed with any codec.

    any help is appreciated

    i have xp sp2

For the audio, just plug your VCR audio into your computer audio card or line-in socket. It should show up in the recordings after you adjust your audio card settings. You will see that in the 'system requirements' for the card: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_impactvcb.html

thks...i just read u can get a rca to 3.5 mm converter but some complain of sync problems when you use a separate audio card from video capture card

but more importantly i need a recommendation of capture card that is available to buy on ebay or major sites that works with virtualdub and captures 720 x 480 in any compression
