What converting software are you using? Am mostly looking for a software that can take any codec/filetype.

Doesn't exist that will convert any codec/filetype. And what quality do you want? The closest I know of is SUPER, but I would only use it for lower quality conversions.

If you want higher quality and more control, the individual programs are a better choice.

I use VirtualDub (Mod), Ripbot264, ConvertXToDVD, FAVC, AVISynth, and DVD Shrink regularly, along with quite a few other programs that are sometimes needed for the encoding/conversion/authoring and other video processes. A lot depends on what your final output type is, along with what your source video type is.

AVI Demux, Xvid4PSP, AutoGK, FAVC, DVD Flick. Depends on the need. Horses for courses is my motto.

Like olyteddy: My first choice is Mediacoder, then VirtualDub. That's all I want to convert, transcode and edit video files.
