    I got my Hands on a Blackberry Storm and was wondering the best way to format videos for the best viewing on it.

    All i know so far is:

    BB Storm has a 480-by-360 pixel resolution at 184 ppi

    * - video formats: MPEG4 H.263, MPEG4 Part 2 Simple Profile, H.264 (encoding and decoding 30fps), WMV
    * - audio formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus.

    It comes with 8gig memory card and is upgradeable to 16 gigs.

    What do you guys think would be the best combination formats for this thing? anyone else have one?

    Hey all, This bump is in the hopes that someone here can help with this problem. I am now trying to figure out how to crop a dvd movie encoded for the storm using Handbrake.

    this link is from the handbrake forums describing the problem more in detail.

    I am having similar problems. A Blackberry Storm preset would be great. or we could all make our own custom preset if we just knew the correct combination of settings to choose.

    If you force to encode the video @ 480 by 360 you get full screen but its stretched out.

    Since usually the source is wide screen, and the full resolution of the storm is 480 x 360 (not 16:9) the only way must be is to crop off the edges to make it display full screen without stretching.

    Problem is I am not sure how to properly use the cropping features. and possibly there is a magic way with no cropping and achieving full screen. or something vey close to full screen.

    well try mpeg4 codec not h264.. and acc audio 64bit

    reduce your avg bitrate to to 248-384

    you watching this on a small screen in lowers resolution, high bit rates are a waste of space and processor power

    try these and see which play on your storm
