Hi everyone. I hope I am in the correct forum. I am trying to get my Wintv application to receive channels from my dvr. I attched a s-video cable to the Hauppauge video card and to my dvr. I still cannot receive channels over 100. I have digital cable and the channels advance to 400. I would like to record a show on channel 173. How do I accomplish this task? Am I doing something wrong? Any assistance will be helpful. maryhigginsrice.

Hi Jagabo. I did select the s-video in the wintv app. I added channel 173, but it will not come in. Thank you for answering my post . Jagabo what I really need is a description of how to set it up correctly. I have searched for the answer, but I do not understand. Why doesn't the wintv app scan for channels when it is in the s-video mode? Do I need the IR blaster, which I do not have. maryhigginsrice

So you're saying you assigned the s-video input to channel 173 in WinTV? And while set to that channel (in WinTV) you can see channels tuned by the DVR below 100 but not channels over 100? If that's the case, I can only assume your DVR doesn't output those channels. Maybe there is some setting in the DVR that controls this? Have you tried both standard definition and high definition channels?
