Anyone knows where can I get the modified firmware for Philips DVP5965k/98?

Does the modified firmware of 5960/12 or 5960/37 works in this model because I observed that this model had the same features including update feature of the official firmware of the 5960/37?

I don't know where to get it nor if it will work for your model, but what do you expect this firmware to do? The only modified firmware I've heard of for Philips did things like supported longer file names for MP3 and AVI playback or it supported some punctuation characters like accent marks that aren't used in English. If you are expecting modified firmware to do something else, you will surely be disappointed.

I would like to use the firmwares presented in site:
    http://www.phunkyfish.com/article/4/philips-dvp-596012
I'm still doubtful to use it due to my fear that it may damage my player.
It is safe to use the firmwares from that site?

The firmware at the site is probably OK, but there is no way to know if it will work in your player. It could ruin your player. I can't recommend that you do this unless you are OK if it ruins your player. I did a quick internet search and I could not find any information that suggests that this firmware will work on your player.
