  1. when i try to encode with tmpg on some divx only i dont get any sound.
but if i play them with the "playa" divx player the sound is fine. is there a codec i need? cuz i feel i have them all. please help thanks

  2. Use VirtualDub to open your DivX files and select Save WAV, then in TMPGEnc use the new WAV file as your Audio Input.

TMPGEnc simply has some problems encoding the Audio in the DivX, and using this method fixes that up.

What i find is that sometime the audio compression is screwed, and when VirtualDub extracts the audio its still compressed (still screwed), what i recommend is if that does not work, take the wave file that virtualdub (approx 100MB) created then use winamp to convert it to an uncompressed wav (approx 800MB-1GB), then use that as the audio source in TMPGEnc... I've done that several times and it works great!

    Hope that helps

use winamp to make an uncompressed wav file... then use that in TMPGEnc, that will fix your audio sync problem... lol.. been there, done that...

  10. In case this was a simular issue to what I was seeing, the answer (pointed out to me by KuskenLars) to go into TMpgEnc->Enviorment Settings->VFAPI Plug-In, click on "Direct Show Multimedia File Reader", and right click to up it's priority until it was on top.

For me, Virtual Dub would create a WAV file that didn't contain all the audio (was missing several seconds) and would obviously be out of sync. Setting the Direct Show thingy did the trick quite nicely, and didn't involve any extra steps. Perfect sync!!!

It also appeared to co-exist with SCMPX frequency resampler just fine, something I was quite woried about when I saw it pop up. But all is good.

OK, use virtualdub to extract the audio from the DivX, THEN use winamp to convert that file (the file created w/ virtualdub), to an uncompressed wav file (approx 800MB-1GB in size) then use that as your audio source in TMPGEnc. so:

    1. Use Virtualdub to extract audio track.
    2. Use Winamp to convert the file to an uncompressed wav.
    3. In TMPGEnc use that file as your audio source.

That should take care of it...

  12. but how the heck can you save it in winamp? what version do i need?
    please help!!!

    thanks

  13. to save in winamp is somewhat of a task of its own hehe u have ot goto options preferences and plugins output then set diskwriter plugin to save but make sure before you doo this to have the wave loaded in playlist at bottom of winamp. one lil problem i found with winap a while back was that it kept writing any song i played and filled disk

  14. Change the output plug-in in WinAmp to output wav (waveOut).

To get to "Options->Preferences" you can press CTRL-P
Under "Plug-Ins->Output" select "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in"
    Click "Configure" button.

When you play the file, a new .WAV file will be created.

Hope this helps. Again, I would seriously look into setting the Direct Show setting in TMpgEnc as an alternative. It worked for me quite nicely.

  15. Hey, learn something new every minute. I wasn't aware of the Disk Writter one (only waveOut). Been a while since I configured outputs in WinAmp...
