I have a subtitle file which I have made. Some of the subs are positioned at different positions. And some are overlapping. But when I play it back on media player and VLC,the subs dont appear like they're supposed to!I tried converting them onto DVD and it still won't display the way I want them to(as mentioned). The subs that I positoned at the top appears to be at the bottom and one of the sentences that is suppsed to overlap with another words dont appear.
How do I solve this?Someone help me.Please don't suggest to hardub because I dont like hardsubbing as it reduces the quality of the vid.
I can't live without my computer.

DVDSubEdit can re-position individual subs where you want them (top/bottom/etc).

SRT format does not support any formatting.

You can put some HTML-style formatting codes in them, sometimes it will display but it's not standard.
If you want it to be pretty, use ASS.

I already used ASS but the subtitles still won't play as formatted. They all appear like the normal subs that you see on tv.I have already positioned them but

I guess you need the vsfilter for ass filters to be shown correct. But I don't know any tool that can keep the positions when you convert to dvd switchable subtitles, the only method I know is to use dvdsubedit after as ZQX mentions.

As Baldrick said, VSfilter is able to display .SSA and .ASS correctly.
Use MaestroSBT for converting .SSA into .SST, which will be
happily accepted by Muxman or DVD-lab PRO.

I already have VSfilter.THat's why I thought it was weird that the subs dont display correctly. But I just found out that I didnt activate the active rendering settings Now I am able to watch the subs correctly

But,there's one more problem.Conevrtxtodvd still won't display the subs correctly How do I force convertxtodvd to display the subtitles as formatted????
