Not counting doing something stupid like stretching, your choices are basically down to:
    1. Crop your 16:9 material to the important 4:3 area within to match the 4:3 material then output as (edit) Pillarboxed (PBX) to 16:9.
    2. Zoom your 4:3 material's internal 16:9 window to match your 16:9 material then output as 16:9.
    Both are compromises.

But you would seem to have bigger problems to worry about if you need something definitive tonight and you are still trying to work things out now.

Btw, it is not good form on this site to "grave rob".

Thanks, Scott! What I don't understand is PBX. What about 16:9 PBX to 4:3? What does PBX mean. Do you that would solve my problem? You are right (re: bigger problem). They just send me the invite today and wanted some of the info by tonight via email! I guess that's the nature of the game when you are in film business?! Thanks again! At least you taught me what LBX stands for.

I edited my response and it actually speaks more to PBX...

Actually, unless things have changed recently, most media folks don't use those abbreviations.
