    Ayone know of a good honest mp3 checking utility that thoroughly checks through my music files to see what's corrupted.
    Something similar to MP3 Test.

    It works. Checks files, repairs files which doesn't mean restore to original condition. It just tries to cut out the bad parts. It patches the original and makes a .bak file by default.

    I have another called MP3 Repair Toolv1.5, It makes a mess of the repaired file. Media Info gives no Media Info with the repaired files. I think I will remove the thing since I nearly forgot that still had it.

    You do understand that such tools cannot do any more than MP3val does or they will simply just report that you have a bad file, right? There's no way to restore a corrupted MP3 file to its original good state unless you have something like a PAR file for it.
