There is this jerk that double parks his 18 wheeler cab on my street on a regular basis:

Being sick of this, I call the police. They usually just tell me to call parking enforcement. But when I inform them that parking enforcement doesn't come out to my neightborhood, they sometimes actually send an actual police car out. Since this can take a couple of hours, the offending individual is usually gone when they arrive. On the one occasion he was still there, the police simply turned on their siren, and the jerk ran out to his truck, and drove off. I don't think that they wee given a ticket. I prefer that they give thema ticket. This time (last satruday) the cop actually showed up, again after they had departed. But this time I actually had my digital camera pictures put on my USB stick, and plugged that into my Phillips DVD recorded and had them on the view screen of my TV for them too look at. They told me where to take my pics, so I can have them issure them a couple of tickets, so I'll be doing that later today (and reporting back). They said that if I had a pic with the license plate, they culd do something. So I've got this one I'm going to show them:

Anyway, the offending individual did see me taking the pics, and satrted telling at me, claiming that what he was doing was perfectly legal (ummm, it's NOT) simple because he was only going to be there a few minutes. Umm, he's there for hours sometimes, and he does this all the time. And that's 2 infractions there too.

Another thing I did while the cop was in my house, was to point to the back alley, where a pickup truck was parked, and had been so for over an hour. So I asked him to give them a ticket. This was the first time I've ever gotten the police to issue a ticket for parking in the back alley. Needless to say, I felt really good when I saw this after he left:

They basically look like the "That House" of your neighborhood.

I had a similar experience, but a little more extreme.

There was a guy across the street (in "That House") who would double park his POS in addition to blocking driveways (mine, mainly). I did the whole 9, asked them politely to "fix" it, took pictures, called police and code enforcement, but nothing helped. On top of all this, their place looked like a pig-sty.

One day, the douche blocks my driveway yet again. I go out to my front yard, and just for anger-management's sake, vent to a friend about it on my cell. Since this is a continuous problem, I video all such 'incidents". About 2 or 3 minutes later, he sees me talking on the phone and thinks that I am calling the police (bear in mind that the police have done absolutely nothing on previous occasions). He runs over to my yard, swinging wildly, intending to cave my head in with an empty beer can. I quickly put my cell away, beat him pretty badly, then call the police. Unfortunately, him being the one with the most damage, they get ready to haul me off. Fortunately, it was a tale of the (video) tape, and they get him instead. Not only that, but they tow the POS, and have Code Enforcement fine them and order them to clean up their shitty yard.
He got a nice 30 day county vacation with a restraining order a la mode. The funny thing was watching them review the tape and hearing them say "here you can see Mr. ___ is clearly brandishing a weapon"

I never had a problem since, due mainly to the fact that they moved out two months later.
