go to http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html
and get the QTReader.vfp, put it in the tmpgenc directory and make sure you have quicktime installed.
You should be able to load the quicktime movies into tmpgenc and convert them to mpeg then. -
Great tmpgenc can open the mov file but it freezes when I try to convert I think I have to extract the audio from the mov file and then use the mov file as the video source and the extracted audio as the audio source what program can extract mov files...?

I've never gotten that plugin to work. I think quicktime came out with a new protection since it's creation. I've been able to convert quicktime to avi using EO Video. Then I convert the quicktime to mpeg.

Can you tell me where I can get this EO Video program and post some more instructions please ?
