    Hi,

I have an avi file on my computer that plays perfectly however, when I try to burn it to DVD it is always out of sync by several seconds no matter what program I use.

I have tried using DVD Flick, Avi2DVD and also created an mpg using VirtualDub and TMPEGnc but nothing seems to have worked so far.

I've made a number of DVD's using these methods and have never encountered this problem before.

I'd be grateful for any advice or assistance anyone can offer.

    Thanks guys.

It is a progressive desync, i.e., is a gradual loss of a/v sync ?

or it is a constant desync ?

The first type you can try to change audio tempo to play audio faster or slower, or reclock it

The second type, check if it has delays, in this case you can use tools like AVIMux-Gui that will fix your movie file

    hope this helps

It's a constant desync from what I can tell but it is in sync as an avi file.

  4. So, find out the amount it's out of synch and fix it. Perhaps there's a delay in the AVI you're not taking into account when making the DVD.

Sorry to be a pain but how do I do that? I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to this kind of stuff.

The avi doesn't appear to be out of sync at all when I've watched it.

Try save the audio as wav. Use for example avidemux, open the avi, under video choose copy, under audio choose wav pcm and save as a new avi. Check the sync and if it's okey convert it to dvd. Or you could try convert directly to dvd mpeg in avidemux also.

If that wont help then post the details from the avi, what video and audio codec, bitrate, etc. Use MediaInfo.

    just use AVIMUX-GUI

    add the movie

Generate data from source ( or something like that )

    SAVE

it will make a new AVI file without delays, or some other problems
