  3. didn't say i was a noob at posting in forums...although it may look like it.

I accidently thought i was posting in two different forums and then realized that i'd made the mistake of posting in the same one twice.

Try SUPER. Though MP4 is terrible for editing. If you need to do extensive editing, a lower loss codec would be better. Even DV-AVI would be a better choice. But SUPER should be able to convert 'most' FLV videos. Not all FLV videos are easy to convert. Offering money is not a good idea either, unless you want a lot of spam replies.

    And welcome to our forums.

If you still want to convert to mp4, you might want to take a look at a new tool from DVDFab called VideoFab.

AviDemux will import an flv and let you edit, filter, resize (what ever) and export to mp4 or other. It's also free...........

Hi I'm having the same trouble Im trying to convert a large FLV file about 600 MB and all the converters ive tried have failed. SUPER doesnt work I get errors and ive tried the above linked program from mini DVD Soft and that program crashes when I try my FLV file and I want to convert it to an .MP4 file so I can play it on My PSP. I dont have money for the pay converters and ive already seen plenty of free converters that have trojans and adware in them and they dont work either. anyone got any ideas? ive tried all the online file converters but they have 100 mb file limits unless u sign up but i aint doing that. I havent tried that AVIDemux prog linked above I guess i can try it can it handle a 600 mb FLV file? thanks for your help everyone.

You might try Any Video Converter Free Version. It [s:73e5f1a195]just[/s:73e5f1a195] has a 'nag' screen for the free version, but works well for most format conversions. Use the 'Customized AVI Movie' selection if you want more control over the final output format.

Are you sure theres no conversion limits just a nag screen. the FLV I have is over 600MB in file size. and I want to export it as an .mp4 AVC file in 480X272 for my PSP.

I struck out the word 'just' in my previous post as I don't really know if there are other limitations in the free version. But give it a try. I use the pay version now.
