    I have WMP 11 and WinDVD 7

I have this 1080p WMV-HD rip of a certain film

I can play it in WinDVD 7 like I could a VOB file.

Problem is I can't Zoom into the picture or take screen caps.

My monitor max's out at 1280x1024 the 1080p image is 1920x816.

You can't Zoom in WMP 11 either. (WHY)

    This is fustraiting....

All I want to do is play this video in a scaled down window, use a zoom function to zero in on a certain area and see that portion of the image at full resolution in this zoom mode.

I want to do this so I can 3d sculpt in another program in another scaled window (I do this with VOBs in WinDVD all the time since it lets you scale the players window down and allows you to zoom in and out of the image- I'd go with PowerDVD if it let you do that but you have to have the video image maximized before they let you do any zoom functions)

I'd also like to get true 1080p screen caps.

Not print screen images that remain trapped in my native lesser than 1080p screen resolution.

What can I do guys? Is there a program that can do this, or can I convert this WMV to a 1080p VOB somehow- That would free up WinDVD zoom and screen cap functions.

Windvd does have a screen cap utility. Are you saying it doesn't work on wmv files?

Here are two freeware programs you should try:

    vlc

    media player classic.

Both have their own internal codecs and both should have their own capture options.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

WinDVD7 does not. Not sure about other versions. I've like PowerDVD more but it doesnt offer the zoom function unless the video window is maximized...

Does it have zoom feature that works with the players windows scaled down?
