Now that it looks as though the Gamebridge has been discontinued (and it didn't work with Vista anyway)... is there another external device that does what the Gamebridge did? Display and record game footage in sync on your laptop?

Option is a stardard AVI capture card.
There are other way around that but you have to use a reg TVset for real time perview and split the video.
HD-PVR which has Realtime Component output or any Hardware MPEG2 Encoder with Video Distribution Amplifier
