  1. Hi,

I have the choice between these 3 mini DV PAL camcorders. But I don't know which one is the best in all conditions (light scenes , dark scenes,....). It's for occasional use (holidays, city trips,...), not intensive use. I would film about 5 or 6 hours max of video per year.

I don't find any review or advanced tests for these camcorders.

So where can I find some tests or advices ?

    Thanks

    I have choice between:
    Sony DCR-HC 51
    Sony DCR-HC 53
    JVC GR-D820

    Thanks

Here is the manual for the 2 sony models: (unfortunately in French)

Seems like the 53 Has a USB connection which the 51 doesn't, so you can probably use it as a webcam too.

    Don't know about the JVC

I always suggest getting a cam with a LANC for using a remote control on the tripod. This way, you can get semi-professional pans, tilts, and zooms. Of course, if you're just shooting handheld, there's no need.

Perhaps it would be cheaper to rent a camera then.

The HV20 price is too much for my use.

Maybe, but I don't always transfer my tapes directly when I come back from holidays.

Or the lower priced AHD 300
