I need to open several past DVDs in the computer to get screen shots of things like the menus, etc. What is the best program for doing this? Preferably in JPG format that lets me set the compression...

VirtualDub, saves a screen shot to clipboard. Paste into whatever image software you want. Save as JPEG from there. Most DVD player software creates crappy/blurry caps, VirtualDub is the only "pure" method I'm easily familiar with.
