Hello all. I have a very frustrating issue. I have a Panasonic SDR-H40 HDD Camcorder. Whenever I copy my video files to my PC, they have no sound playback. Now they play sound fine when you watch them on the camcorder, or even when you preview them using the included video software. But when they are transfered to the PC, and played back (I use Windows Media Player), there is no sound. What do I do? I have about 5 months of footage on the camcorder, and never bothered to try transfering it until now to make some DVDs with the footage. Yes, my volume is up and the player is not on mute. The files are in MPEG format. Please help!

The audio is most likely AC3 (Dolby Digital), which you can confirm with g-spot or media info.

Try installing AC3 ACM Decompressor and see if you can hear anything

Thanks for the quick response! I installed the AC3 file you said, but I still hear nothing. I right clicked the .inf file, and installed. Should I have done anything more?

Stop using Windows media PLayer ? It is not a great player to begin with. Try VLC or The KM Player, which support a wide variety of audio and video codecs natively.
