These messages are getting out of sync. The seller made the swap but it had a bent pin so I sent it back to be replaced. I am in a wait state at the moment.

To lacywest:
The images that you posted do appear to be what I'm looking for. how significant is the code SL6HL which appears on your image? -
Well the search is over. The winner is me. I replaced a Celeron 1.8 with a Pentium 4 2.8 with absolute smoothness. When I first booted up the BIOS came on and wanted me to verify that the CPu speed had been changed. I said yes and it took off.
Thanks to everyone that followed this thread. The case is now closed. -
absolutely, as long as the motherboard supports both types of cpu, then just plug in and go, i've done this numerous times on both amd and intel platforms, you shouldn't even have to go into the bios.Originally Posted by mysts

How significant ? ..... Well ... I figured it means that cpu gets that code ... different speeds get another code ...Originally Posted by mysts
Same cpu different speed ... SL6RZ ... is 2.4 GHZ ... socket 478
The SL6RZ came out of a HP D510C ... I put in a 2.66 GHZ ... from a HP D530C [dont know the code it is already mounted and sent out .... sold the PC on Ebay]
