    I'm using VirtualDub MPEG2.
    I have the AC3ACM installed.

I have a m2v file and ac3 file (both have the same filename).
When I loaded the m2v file in VDub, it used to automatically detect the audio file too (because of the same file name - even though they're separate files), but now it doesn't. Shouldn't it automatically load the audio too as the source?

I have to end up doing "Browse for Audio..." and selecting the AC3 file.

However, if I end up browsing for the ac3 file, I don't get the 44000Hz option in LameMP3. I only get 48000Hz on the list. I also get this error:

    "Error Initializing audio stream compression:
The audio codec cannot compress the source audio to the desired format.

Check that the sampling rate and number of channels in the source is compatible with the selected compressed audio format."

Try change to 44khz under Audio->Conversion first.

But I would convert using avidemux or xvid4psp instead.

Nice. Thanks! That seemed to work and finally showed the 44khz option in LameMP3 too.

I wonder why I have to do Audio->Conversion? I'm pretty sure before I didn't have to do that.

If there's a video file (m2v) and any separate audio file with the same filename, doesn't VirtualDub automatically detect that as a source for audio?

I tried to open the ac3 file in avidemux, but it wouldn't open it. I'll try installing xvid4psp next...

AFAIK, only MPC does that trick.

Also, I think you'd better use the "normal" VirtualDub with the MPEG-2 input plugin
--- it has always worked fine over here.
