hello...
I have 4 Aiptek go-hd cameras with two behringer xm8500 microphones connected to notebook for recording my driving in the car.
So, audio is recorded separatly from picture.
How I can simply synchronize audio to movies from cameras?
thanks

If your camcorders have built in microphones then just make a sharp noise like clap or click 2 drumsticks together..etc. then in the editor you can lock onto that sound on all 4 camera sound-tracks
if your camcorders aren't recording audio then I believe you would need to be somewhere where all 4 cameras can see you. Then record some sort of quick/sharp noise..such as hitting 2 drumsticks together or clapping..etc.
then in your editor you can line up the image of yourself clapping/etc. with the sound it makes. -
Pro's use a clap board with LED timecode that matches the primary camera to create a cue point for all devices. They also use a common sync clock so all devices run at the same speed. Audio is cued to the "clap".
If possible if you don't have sync lock, I'd connect the external mics through the primary camcorder so you can visually sync waveforms at the audio edit timeline. Alternatively you can use a periodic "clicker" that all mics can "hear". The clicker puts a periodic pulse on the audio track that can be used for sync and later edited out in post.

ok, your answers approve my idea...Simply turn-on cameras and fire cracker-))) When cracker BUMMMMM, all cameras must record this type noise...-))))))))))))))))))))
thanks -
A fire cracker blast extends several frames. You need a short sound (click) that lasts only ~1/16 frame (1/479.5 or 0.002 sec) to sync tracks without excessive echo. You also need an editor that allows ~8-16 audio positional increments per video frame (e.g. Vegas, Sound Forge or Premiere).
