    Can anyone tell me why I get those strange lines on the side of this screen caure ?

    I use VirtualDubMod for screen captures but that is weird looking. I have used VLC before for screen captures and never seen that ... that white "speckling" stuff.

    Maybe an issue with your video card's overlay feature?

    It only seems to happen when usig VLC for caps, other capping programmes seems fine
