Ok so i have a Inspiron 1420 running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 and i have been capturing HDTV stuff with my firewire and Scientific Atlanta 8240HDC stb. I cut the commercials out and convert to .mpeg2 using videoredo plus, then use Staxrip to encode to .avi but after its done encoding the audio starts off in sync but then slowly starts to get out of sync as the video progresses. I did not have this problem when using Windows XP SP2. So i have no idea what the problem is. I have no audio problems when encoding Standard Definition sources but for some reason all my HDTV encodes have been coming out not in sync with the video. Has anyone else ran into this problem before? If so please help! Thanks!

You could first just try convert using something else like autogk or xvid4psp and see if it makes any difference.

I guess you have checked so the mpeg2 created by videoredo is in sync?
What version of staxrip? latest stable or beta?
