When you open a folder, it opens all the contents in that foler, but On the very left side of the screen there is a blue screen going from under the tool bar down to the bottom of screen. In that it lists file & folder,other places,Details etc. Where is this located to keep it showing or take it off. My kids other computer is not showing it * I can't figure how to display it as on the other two wind XP machines???

at top of window go Tools/Folder options, under the general tab in the tasks section select "Use windows classic folders"
