I was wondering how long of a movie can you fit onto a DVD with a bitrate of 8.0 mbps? I currently use Sony Vegas 7.0 and Sony DVD Architect 4.0. I normally use their usual DVD preset and I think the settings are usually around 6.0 mbps. Should I export at a higher bitrate like 8.0 mbps? What is the norm? Thanks.

That link is for a bitrate calculator. You can use it to judge how much can fit on a dvd for a given bitrate.
